The main purpose of the course is the formation of knowledge about the peculiarities and regularities of the historical, demographical, economical, socio-political development of the countries of the world, the location of both the world economy as a whole and its main industries in individual regions and countries of the world, as well as the ability to analyze the features and specifics of modern development of the countries of the world.

Abstract.

Module 1. Tendencies of socio-political and economic development of highly developed countries

Planned study results: to be able to characterize country studies, its subject and object of study, the interdisciplinary nature of the course; to know the concept of regularities in countrystudies (the regularity of the inevitable collapse of empires; to determine the regularity of the growth of the number of countries on the political map of the world; to analyze the regularity of the creation of national states; the regularity of the geopolitical pendulum of history); to be able to carry out analysis according to the program of country studies of M. Baranskyi.

Module 2. Characteristics of the key countries of the regions and subregions of the world

Planned study results: analyze general information, geographic location (physical-geographical, economic-geographical, geopolitical), contribution to the development of civilization; determine natural conditions and resources (relief, climate, water resources, soils, mineral resources) conduct population analysis (population, natural population growth, sex-age structure, level of urbanization, average life expectancy, ethnic composition, religious composition, language structure, resettlement, quality of life, mentality); to know the main stages of historical development, political system, economy and foreign economic relations. To characterize the participation in international relations.

Cost: UAH 2,400.
